More about this list
Many Kraków clubs reach the rating list through tournaments they organise themselves. Krakowski Klub Szachistów 1893 holds its December Mikołajki event with a FIDE rating, UKS Bakcyl Bielany runs its seasonal series Cztery Pory Roku, and Klub Szachowy Dwie Wieże counts rated results in its junior Grand Prix. In Wieliczka, the chess section of MKS MOS plays rated blitz at Easter, in May and before Christmas.
Other clubs appear through teams. MKS Centrum and the primary-school teams of SP 48, SP 62 and SP 87 play in the Małopolska junior and school leagues, AZS AGH co-organises the library tournament on al. Mickiewicza, and the players of Collegium Medicum compete at the Polish academic championships. UKS Goniec Staniątki and KS Małopolskie Chess Tour complete the list.
